Dress Code For Teachers

Ever seen a teacher wearing a very low top? Or very short shorts? Thats absurd! As a teacher you should dress as the professional you are. You do not have to be hip and be like the teenagers. You are here to teach, not to impress anyone.

Most teachers have enough common sense to know that they should not wear overly tight clothing or for men tank tops, but there are teachers that obviously have no common sense when it comes to dressing professionally. I have seen with my own eyes teachers wearing short shorts, tank tops and other unreasonable clothing. It is ridiculous that you are going to a school with children from the age 5-17 and you dress like them.

In the article Dress code for teachers, I 100% agree with them. Your clothing does truly give people an impression about the person. When I see teachers that dress like I do I automatically think they don't care about the way they dress and about their job. As a teen, if i have a sub and the sub dresses like me or worse than me, I might take advantage over them all because they are dressing like a teenager and not a professional or teacher. I want to have respect for them and not take advantage or anything of that nature but when you see someone that dresses like you or your friends, you are probably going to treat them like one and not as a qualified teacher you are.

Teachers need a dress code even though most of them dress respectable but every once and a while you get a teacher that you can mistake for as a student.

"...teachers are models for young men and women, and we have to set a good example." as it says in the article Dress Code. This statement is so true! Teachers really do set an example for us. So it wouldn't be ideal for a teacher to come to school and dress in beach clothing.

I really hope that at my school they make a teacher dress code, they need one.
